Gail McCray
Following three months of intense back pain, Gail McCray was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2008. After ASCT, she went through 7 years of remission before having a relapse but found a regimen that put her into sCR for a second time. Gail is a Community Health Educator working to close the gap between health care providers and community/individual health and to get patients to be more involved with their health. She is focused on translating research into practice and on the end-user of bioresearch. Gail has been a co-leader of the Southside Atlanta MM Support Group for 12 years. This is Gail’s second time attending the ASH conference. New therapies, upcoming clinical trials, genetics, genomics, precision medicine, and research determining disparities in the incidence of myeloma in African Americans and other ethnic groups are Gail’s topics of interest.
